When referring to the deployment models of EMR’s or EHR’s we refer to C/S, B/S or SAAS. All have valid places in the marketplace and all have an industry need. I will explain all 3 in some further detail and list some of the major pro’s and con’s for each.

Medical imaging plays a crucial role in patient diagnosis and has done since its introduction in the early 1900’s. The introduction of the computer and digital age saw an explosion of diagnostic imaging techniques with new imaging modalities like ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging.

In 2009, through the Obama administration, a new health plan arose in the USA, aiming to digitalize all health information gathered at hospitals and clinics across the nation, but not only to have the information more accessible and organized, but mainly to provide a much more efficient and meaningful medical service to all patients nationwide.

When it comes to playing the role of a successful IT manager, the main concern is always the same. How to support the business activities, in the most cost-effective manner.

Outsourcing has been seen for many years as a way to get things done in a less expensive way, or at least that is the plan when the projects start. However, making the wrong choices when selecting your provider can make the project turn from the ideal result you were hoping, to a very expensive, slow and painful experience.
